Overview

The position of Sales Coordinator is one with significant impact and influence on the hotel performance.
It is essential to the success of the hotel that you are personally accountable, take initiative, possess a positive attitude, exemplify excellent communication skills, and perform well as part of a team.
Additionally, you must be able to acquire and apply job knowledge, follow our sales and reservation processes, perform the duties of the Check-in and Check-out without error, resolve guest issues, handle payments properly, and perform other duties as assigned.

Operational Responsibilities

Job Knowledge

  • Able to develop/maintain knowledge of the market trends, competition and customers.
  • Master the necessary technical and analytical skills to perform well.
  • Understand new duties within a reasonable time.
  • Understand the overall work flow of the hotel.
  • Develop technical knowledge of related jobs, where required.
  • Proficient in “The Link” – Sales customer database tool.

Assigned Duties

  • Identify and solicit new clients or target groups as well as maintaining existing customer relationships.
  • Consult with management on rate/inventory suitability of potential groups, corporate and leisure business.
  • Collaborate in the building of rates, packages, accountable for sales strategies.
  • Support the property in attaining budgeted targets.
  • Successfully negotiate/interpret/prepare sales contracts and negotiated rate agreements.
  • Execute the Sales and Marketing Plan to enhance revenue.
  • Manage and monitor group block activity, including the management of group cut-off dates, securing and reviewing all rooming lists, and coordinating client payments.
  • Provide group sales analysis and assists in developing of group pricing strategies.
  • Ensure ongoing hotel sales of Corporate, Leisure, Tours & Travel and group segments are achieved through solicitation of organizations, professional market segment associations, travel agents, consortiums etc., on a consistent basis.
  • Timely and accurately enter all contact data into “The Link”.

Problem Resolution

  • Ensure account productivity by maintaining client satisfaction and continuous rapport building.
  • Responsible for client satisfaction by ensuring overall quality of group, transient and catering sales efforts in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Resolve guest issues to their satisfaction, when presented with them.
  • Utilize resources made available to resolve guest issues/complaints.
  • Communicate any issues and resolution with management and other team members.

Other Duties

  • Listen for opportunities to offer rewards membership information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Play an active role as part of the hotel leadership team.
